Torchwood Miracle Day

On twitter I asked my followers what theme I should focus my next blog post on either sci-fi or LGBT, So I was challenged by my friend Mr@Tony_firth to create a post on BOTH!

After some thought I could think of nothing better that fit this category other than the one the only TORCHWOOD! I am sure however Tony will be disappointed as I am aware he isn't a fan of Doctor who and I presume the same for Torchwood.

However here i go:

So we recently had the news that the UK will be airing Torchwood: Miracle Day nearly an entire week after the US will. The obvious reason for this being that Starz, the new partners over the pond put up a very much larger portion of the budget, also the fact that the Starz channel rely on subscriptions for people to watch, therefore if those viewers could simply download the episode of the internet then it wouldn't have really worked would it?

""Myles (Gwen Cooper) told The Hollywood Reporter: "We never, ever, ever wanted to take this show away from the original fans. What we always wanted to do with the show was give them a gift every year, something wonderful, a big, big present.

"It works out that it will be a week after the US showing, and obviously we have nothing to do with that, me nor John [Barrowman] or [showrunners Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner].""

That leads me to wonder will the people on this side of the pond wait till the 14th or just simply download the show the day after it airs in America? I for one will be waiting and watching it on the BBC, not out of a sense of loyalty, but merely because since Doctor Who is off the air at the moment i haven't got anything else I wait for week after week to watch with the fiancée!

Right so this season then looks to be amazing, bigger and better than the last three (not surprisingly as Starz have reportedly given it twice the budget the BBC did).
According to John Barrowman, who we all know plays omni-sexual heartthrob Captain Jack Harkness, "[Jack] gets to have full-on boy-sex a couple of times. On those days going to work I'd wake up and Scott my partner would say, 'What are you filming today?' And I'd say, 'Oh, it's going to be a tough day, I get to have sex with a 24-year-old'."" So that looks EXCITING!

Torchwood has always been good with its LGBT characters and story lines, the fact that it is moving to america and a later audience, the next step would be a bit more graphical :D I have no complaints about this!

We know the basic story line for the year, The world experience's this "Miracle Day" where from then on no one can die, they continue to get sick and injured but do not die and we get to watch how everyone reacts to this and how it some how is connected to an old English institution known only as Torchwood!

Sounds great to me, I for one cannot wait to tune in on the 14th of July (thought it will actually be the 15th as im in Liverpool on the 14th celebrating my friends graduation :D)

So there we go, a post both on LGBT and Sci-Fi Well in a fashion :p

1 Year on

Hello, welcome to my writing blog, the one i have tried to carry on 2 previous times and failed.
Well anyway, so a quick catch up on me in the year ive not posted on here.

I will attempt this is one or two words per thing that happened:

quit job, new job, fired, new job, GOT ENGAGED, quit, new job, fired, unemployed, got cat! job search.

So yeah thats pretty much the big things of the last year. I should explain though that the 2 times i was fired were NOT my fault, the first one was my alarms for not working and the 2nd was a CONMAN who conned me at the bookies iw as working at. Arsehole.

Anywho this time around with the blog i will write about things that i find important, or interesting, not about what i had for breakfast or how regular my bowel movements are, because i discovered... no one cares.

So i will finish my first post back with a lovely picture of the cat, Maxwell!
